IS A DETOX?
Detoxification is a process our body does all
day long. The ‘problem’ is that most of us do
not intake nutrients essential for healthy ‘detoxification’,
but instead we eat many foods and are exposed to many chemicals
that slow down this important process.
A detox includes taking in nutrients essential
for healthy detoxification and limiting exposure to foods
and chemicals for a short period of time. This allows your
body to boost its ability for healthy detoxification and heal
the intestines and liver. Think
of it as being similar to a 3,000 mile oil change for your
car.
DO
I NEED TO DETOX?
Yes, we all do. It’s recommended that
we all ‘detox’ about every 6 months. We have put
together a safe, efficient and simple program that will ensure
your success.
A detox is not a FAST. Fasting does give your
system a rest but does not CLEAN your digestive tract as detoxification
iis PROTEIN-dependant. Thus, our Great South Bay Detox
includes a high quality protein shake,
along with all the nutrients your body needs
for efficient detoxification as well as probiotics
to support the toxins that are excreted.
You will be eating 3 full meals
as well as 2-3 snacks a day. Foods hard are
hard to digest and are common allergens such as wheat, dairy,
soy, sugar, etc, are ommited from the diet for the duration
of the detox. You’ll also receive a detailed food plan,
recipes, exercise and body care tips as well as 3 educational
sessions, 1 of which is our Creative
Meals cooking class. We've actually added
another optional Creative
Meals class due to high demand. See below
