How to
Heal Your Body and Clear Candida
Now that you’ve been diagnosed with Candida and your
nutritionist has put you on a customized nutrient plan,
what else can you do to expedite your healing process? Next
most important is your diet. In order to clear Candida,
you must follow a strict sugar-free, anti-yeast diet. This
is the only way in addition to the supplements to truly
rid yourself of Candida and prevent its return. Candida
can double in an hour, so while taking supplements and having
a modified yeast diet, you may stay in a cycle for quite
a long time. You must go yeast-free and sugar-free during
the supplement program for a short period of time to rid
this from your body.
While the diet is not easy, it is effective! Below you
will find a list of foods and recipes that are Candida friendly
and also tasty.
Good luck and try to enjoy! Once you rid the Candida and
heal the leaky gut, you will enjoy superb health and be
able to again enjoy the foods we are removing below.
1. Clean out your cupboards:
- gGet rid of sugar, corn syrup, white bread and other
white-flour products, soft drinks, most cereals and all
sweet, fat-laden snack foods.
- Replace them with more vegetables of all kinds, including
those you don’t typically eat. Think of this as
a time to re-explore your taste buds and discover new
things.
- Get rid of processed and prepared foods with hydrogenated
or partially hydrogenated fats, as well as those with
food coloring and additives. Add modest amounts of olive,
walnut, flaxseed, coconut and raw sesame oil. Be sure
all your oils are in a dark bottle!
- Shop for organically grown foods
- Avoid sucrose, fructose, maltose, lactose, glycogen,
glucose, mannitol, sorbitol, galactose, monosaccharides
and polysaccharides.
- Avoid honey, molasses, maple sugar, date sugar and turbinado
sugar.
2. What to expect:
This diet will be difficult but you can do it! You may
experience a condition called “die off” in the
beginning of your program. This means millions of candida
yeast cells are dying off in your digestive tract and in
other parts of the body and therefore metabolic by-products
are released. Until your body gets rid of them, symptoms
may continue or even increase. Die off symptoms include
fatigue, depression, aches, irritability and abdominal pain.
For a few days you may feel much worse, and this is the
stage at which many people decide this is not the plan for
them. Wrong – it means it is working, so Please don’t
give up!!! Remember, you are doing the best possible thing
for your body. If you are in a position to take it easy
for a few days, do so.
- Drink lots of water - you'll be thirsty
- Expect to be on a strict resitricted diet so make sure
to use pink salt and lots of herbal seasonings to spice
things up!
- Be creative with your meals as you may need to stay
on this diet for a few months.
- Make sure to be on track at least 98% of the time (remember,
yeast can double in 15 minutes)
- If you really need something sweet, have a tart green
apple, or a small amount (1/4 cup) of fresh blue or blackberries.
- If you need a snack, go for fats such as half an avocado
or a a teaspoon of olive oil or coconut oil.
- And if you're still hungry, have 1/4 cup of wild rice
- the darker the better.
- It is imperative that you take your anti-yeast herbs.
- AND most importantly, make sure you're working with
one of our nutrition experts to guide you through the
detox.
3. Other supplements that
will expedite the process:
- 2 Tbsp. of Bragg's Apple cider vinegar/day
- 1-2Tbsp. Coconut oil /day
- Grape Seed Extract - 15 drops everyday
- Pau D' Arco tea every day
