Once
you have completed steps 1-4, consider yourself in 'maintenance'
mode. You should still keep key nutrients in your body in
therapeutic doses so that you continue to create vibrant
health. Without infection or toxicity, it will be much easier
to do so.
If you had infection in the body, the damaged cell matrix
and DNA need to be repaired with some important nutrients.
The body needs to be supported with a high quality protien,
prepared without the use of pesticides, flavor additives,
toxic preservatives or synthetic hormones. Also, the beginning
of infection almost always starts in the intestines. Undigested
foods that don't clear the body completely can create dysbiosis,
or an unhealthy bacterial environment (we find this in at
least one-third of our patients). Digestive enzymes
are needed in order to avoid this situation. One out of
three adults is deficient in digestive enzymes...we use
up more than we should because we eat lots of processed
and cooked foods.
Try eating something raw every day (meaning primarily fruits
and veggies) so you can start to improve your digestion
just by eating more healthful food.
Superfoods rejuvenate the body
Superfoods are foods that when you eat them, actually
boost health. So rather than just eating fruits and veggies
because they're healthy, or eating junk food because it
tastes great, start adding some superfoods to your daily
diet. Some include flaxseed meal, coral minerals, greens
in a caps or powder formula, unprocessed, unbleached sea
salt, fruits picked at peak ripeness (we have dried banana
and pineapple slices that qualify here), some minimally
processed protein powders, unprocessed and untreated coconut
oil (ours qualifies here too). See our Functional
Foods page!
